"Merry Christmas" from Bath's Best Boarding House!

We have had a fabulous end to the Autumn Term and really enjoyed the carol service on Tuesday. The packing has been done but sadly we have had to say goodbye to our evening chef Lucie. Lucie has worked at HV for almost 10 years and is a friend to everyone. The children gave her a lovely send off with some special gifts and although we will still see her around the KPS campus - supper won't quite ever be the same again.
All that remains to say is  Merry Christmas" from all the staff and boarders at High Vinnalls - see you all in the new year!

Getting Christmassy at High Vinnalls

The last week has seen some lovely events at High Vinnalls as well as KPS. Nemo and the rest of the 'Summerhill Singers' got to sing outside the idyllic setting of Bath Abbey on Tuesday afternoon. On Friday, Sophie, Rachel and Nemo sang carols at the senior school for the MJSD dinner. The final 'Wacky Wednesday' of the term was wonderful. We all headed off on a road trip to Lacock Garden Centre where we enjoyed hot chocolate, farm animals, amazing decorations and a bit of shopping! Saturday saw the annual KPS Christmas Fayre - the boarders helped on stalls and really got into the Christmas spirit by dressing up with a bit of sparkle - we even had a cheeky elf in our midst!

It's beginning to look a bit like Christmas....

What a lovely weekend we have had a High Vinnalls. On Saturday the boarders created beautiful decorations for the house which are now adorning the dining room. There was also some cake and mince pie baking and the children enjoyed testing out their bakes!
Sunday saw the boarders head to Bath on Ice in Victoria Park for a slot on the ice rink. Although they were a bit cold and wet - it didn't stop them from having lots of fun.
Sunday evening is a particular highlight in the HV calendar - Advent Supper. We are always provided with an amazing supper and this year was no exception. We were joined this year, by Mr Titley who returned to HV to switch on the Christmas lights. The boarders all had lots of fun at our 'in-house' disco afterwards! There are still many more Christmas events to come at KPS and HV but this weekend was a great way to start the run up to the Christmas Holidays.
